“Osun Election: Kwara CP Tasks Deployed Officers on Discipline, Neutrality”

The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Ojo Adekimi, psc, mnips, has charged officers deployed to Osun State for election duties to conduct themselves with discipline, neutrality and professionalism.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, ANIPR, and made available to _Streetwise Media_, the CP said he addressed the personnel prior to their deployment to Osun.
According to the statement, CP Adekimi relayed the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, that all officers assigned to election duties must remain apolitical and impartial at all times.
The Commissioner noted that election security is a critical national assignment and stressed that officers must carry out their responsibilities strictly in line with the law and established rules of engagement.
He warned against any act capable of eroding public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force, specifically cautioning personnel against extortion, fraternization with political actors, and the unnecessary use of force.
CP Adekimi further directed the deployed officers to remain vigilant, maintain constant communication with their commanders, and ensure the protection of lives and property. He said their mandate includes preserving public order and providing a secure environment for citizens to exercise their right to vote without fear or intimidation.
The Commissioner expressed confidence in the preparedness of the personnel and urged them to uphold the reputation of the Kwara State Police Command throughout the assignment in Osun.
