Family Murder In Guzape: FCT Police Arraign 3, Including Deceased’s Children, Over Father’s Stabbing
The FCT Police Command has arraigned three suspects before an FCT High Court over the murder of a Guzape resident, Adimike Godwin.
The defendants — Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany, and Comfort Ajibade — were arraigned on Monday before FCT High Court 13 on a four-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and offences under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.
According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the incident occurred on 15th May, 2026. Police said they received a distress call at Guzape Division from a relative who could not reach the deceased. Detectives who responded found Mr. Godwin unconscious in his room with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to Karu General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Following an investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, five persons were initially arrested. They included the deceased’s two children, Comfort Ajibade, the driver, and the gateman.
At the conclusion of investigations, three persons were charged to court. All three defendants face joint charges of conspiracy to commit culpable homicide and culpable homicide.
In addition, Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony was separately charged with entering into a same-sex civil union. Adimike Chinyere Stephany and Comfort Ajibade were also jointly charged with entering into a same-sex civil union, contrary to the provisions of the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.
The court ordered that the three defendants be remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter to 30th September, 2026 for further hearing.
The FCT Police Command said it remains committed to pursuing justice for victims of crime while upholding the constitutional rights of all persons throughout the judicial process.
