2027 REALIGNMENT: UMEADI DUMPS ADC FOR NDC, VOWS STRONGER FIGHT FOR AMUWO ODOFIN REBIRTH
…Says Defection Signals Renewed Resolve for Purposeful Representation

Leading aspirant for the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Engr. Azubuike Emmanuel Umeadi, has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), declaring that the move reinforces his commitment to delivering transformative and people-focused representation for the constituency.
In a press statement released on Sunday, Umeadi described his defection as a carefully considered decision reached after extensive consultations with political associates, community leaders, supporters, and critical stakeholders across Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

According to him, the decision was driven solely by the overriding interest of the people and his unwavering determination to champion a new era of responsive, inclusive, and impactful representation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
While expressing profound gratitude to the leadership and members of the ADC at the ward, local government, state, and national levels for the opportunities and experiences gained during his membership, Umeadi noted that the lingering internal crisis rocking the party had created uncertainties that necessitated a strategic political realignment.

“The continued internal instability within the ADC has made it imperative for progressive-minded leaders to identify with a platform better positioned to deliver on the aspirations of the people,” he stated. The frontline aspirant described the Nigeria Democratic Congress as an emerging political force with a people-centered democratic philosophy and a renewed commitment to credible leadership.

He further noted that his decision aligns with ongoing national political realignments, including the reported movement of prominent political figures such as Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to the NDC, which he said signals a significant shift in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
Reaffirming his dedication to grassroots engagement, Umeadi assured constituents that his transition to the NDC would strengthen his consultations, mobilization efforts, and advocacy for a more progressive and prosperous Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

He emphasized that the journey to 2027 remains centered on the aspirations of the people and the collective quest for effective representation. “With the support of the people, together we shall make history,” he declared.
