Zone 2 Police Command Hosts 2025 End of Year Celebration, Christmas Carol Service

 

Thee officers and men of the Zone 2 Police joined the Inspector General of Police in charge of Ogun and Lagos, AIG Fayoade Adegoke, in expressing gratitude to Almighty God for a successful year 2025.

The Command held its 2025 End of Year Celebration and Carol with theme: ‘Peace and Joy To The World’ on Tuesday December 23rd, 2025.

The event featured the Command’s choristers and other invited groups performing songs to celebrate the season and bring the year to a close with appreciation to God.

The Carol Service commenced with the host choristers, offering the first song, followed by St. John’s Church Choir Falomo.

AIG Fayoade Adegoke read the first Bible reading while Deputy Corps Commander, Umar Bamaiyi, representing the zone Zonal Commander, ACM Ann Oladapo took the second Bible reading.

In his welcome address, AIG Adegoke expressed happiness and gratitude to God for being alive and for the forgiveness of our sins through the birth of Jesus Christ.

He acknowledged that Lagos and Ogun are the most peaceful states in Nigeria, attributing this to God’s presence.

The AIG observed a minute of silence in honour of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

He emphasized that the year 2025 has been no different from previous years, and that gathering was to give glory to God for helping the police stay ahead of ahead of crime in Lagos, Ogun Nigeria.

He stressed the importance preparation for challenges and situations, highlighting the need for collective effort to address crime.

AIG Adegoke noted that the Force of security and traffic control challenges during ember months but has put measures in place to reduce crashes and crime rates.

He assured that crime and criminal activities would be minimized during the festivities.

Also speaking, Deputy Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Umar Bamaiyi, representing the Zonal Commander, Ann Oladapo, shared in the joy of the season, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate with Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2 Command.

He acknowledged that AIG’s fatherly role to the FRSC and emphasize the importance collaboration the police and FRSC in ensuring safety on the roads.

DCC Bamaiyi urged Nigerians to support the police and other traffic agencies to ensure a safer and more celebratory environment.

Commenting on recent crashes, the FRSC Boss noted the for continued advocacy and education on safe driving practices, especially about people jumping into the wheel for the first time in order to make themselves happy.

And you know, the road is different from the street, when you are living from the street and you come to highway, it becomes a very difficult situation altogether.

We will persist in our efforts, it’s collective responsibility, don’t drink when driving and when driving, don’t drink, he urged.

 

The event was an opportunity for the police to express gratitude to God and to celebrate the season with other stakeholders.
