Less than 24 hours after the news filtered out about the death of a popular Nollywood actor, Saint Obi, another popular actor of Yoruba movies, Murphy Afolabi, has died on Sunday.

The actor died today in his home after he slipped in the bathroom,in the early hours of today

He was 49 years old.

Famed for his roles in Yoruba movies, Afolabi has starred in over hundreds of Yoruba movies.

The actor has had a successful career of over thirty years after his first debut as a kid actor in Bola Bamigbola (Dagunro)’s Ifa Olokun.

Details about the circumstances surrounding Afolabi’s death is yet to be as ascertained, however, a colleague of the deceased in the Yoruba subsector of the Nollywood, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, has confirmed the sad news.

Ola-Yusuf, a well-known actor, director and producer, took to his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon to mourn Afolabi.

He wrote: “REST IN PEACE…

“May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss.

“Good night Muphy Afolabi.”
