This railway in Chongqin, China is the only rail line in the world that passed through a high rise building.

At the 6th floor of the building, there is a train station known as Liziba for passengers to alight or board the train.

It is said that during the construction of the railway, the community accepted the infrastructure but rejected the demolition of their buildings. After going back and forth with the government, the Engineers who were building the rail came up with an idea.

They would pass the rail through the building without demolishing it, however, they were faced with the challenge of dealing with the vibration and noise from the moving train. They imbedded the rail tracks that passed through the building with vibration absorbing mechanisms and noise reduction equipments.

So the residents get little or no noise from the moving train, and the building doesn’t get the impact of the vibrations from the moving train.
