Just in: ICPC Releases D’Banj on Self Recognition

D Banj a 42 year old, songwriter, singer, rapper and television personality who has been active and vibrant in the Nigerian music industry since 2004 was arrested and detained on Tuesday after ICPC operatives closed in on him. He was asked to surrender himself at the agency ‘s headquarters in Abuja, the federal capital territory.
About almost 72 hours in custody famous singer and song writer Oladapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’ Banj has been released by the Independent Corrupt practices and other related offences Commission(ICPC)
Why he was arrested and detained, the hi pop singer was alleged to have fraudulently diverted hundreds of millions of naira earmarked by the Nigerian government for the N-Power project. An empowerment program set up in 2016 to ease youth unemployment and increased social development
Streetwise however, learnt that popular singer D’Banj was released on Friday afternoon on self recognition but didn’t confirm if the ICPC granted the Singer administrative bail or not.
It was also gathered that on Tuesday the 6th of December, he was arrested, the ICPC alleged that D’Banj failed to show up for interrogation despite several invitations
