2022 WORLD PEACE DAY CELEBRATION :NSCDC LAGOS STATE COMMAND COMMEMORATES DAY IN GRAND STYLE.

Following the recent directive of the Commandant General ( CG ), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, to all State Commands, to commemorate this year’s World Peace Day ( WPD ), which usually, comes up on 21st day of September, of every year, the NSCDC, Lagos State Command, commemorates day in a grand style.
The Command organized, a road walk, which commenced, from the State Command Headquarters, at Alausa – Ikeja, to Allen roundabout and back to its Headquarters, to mark the 2022 WPD. The Command also commemorated the day, with a lecture, titled, “End Racism, Build Peace,” delivered, by Mrs Adekunle Oguntoyinbo Phebian, Creative Director French International School and multiple award winning performing poet.
The 2022 WPD lecture, organized, to commemorate the day was held today, 21st Wednesday, September, 2022, at the State Command Headquarters, in Lagos. The highly commendable event also witnessed, the convergence of guests, from the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akinolu, Eleko of Eko, Nigeria Immigration Service, ( NIS ), Nigeria Correctional Service ( NCS ), Federal Fire Service ( FFS ), Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC ), NAPTIP, United Health Care, Cross Country and others .
The guest lecturer, Mrs Adekunle Phebian, amongst many things, said, “while peace is everybody’s business, however, a few key factors, such as; humanity, humility and peaceful conduct are required, in order to experience sustainable peace, in the society at large.”
The Lagos State Commandant, Commandant of Corps ( CC ) Eweka Edenabu Okoro, msc, acma, cna, who was unavoidably absent was ably represented, by his second – in – command, Deputy Commandant of Corps ( DCC ) Maria Ihuoma, who delivered his speech at the event.
More so, Deputy Commandants of Corps ( DCC ), in – charge – of Crisis Management, DCC Marian Mbakwe and DCC Oloyede Suleiman, the Head of Peace and Conflict Management Unit ( PCU ) and other DCCs, Assistant Commandants of Corps ( ACCs ), Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Divisional Peace Desk Officers, and many other officers, including the Command’s Public Relations Officer, who anchored the event were physically, present, at the lecture.
Finally, it is no more news that the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CC Eweka Okoro, is absolutely, committed and has continued to channel the human, psychological, capital and scientific resources of the Command, towards creating, building, maintaining and sustaining peace in Lagos State and the nation at large.
