CELCE-AFRICA HAILS IGP OLATUNJI DISU’S TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP, COMMENDS POLICE REFORMS AND SECURITY SUCCESSES
The Centre for Leadership and Creative Entrepreneurs in Africa LTD/GTE (CELCE-AFRICA) has commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for what it described as a remarkable era of transformational leadership, strategic reforms, and operational successes that have significantly repositioned the Nigeria Police Force as a more responsive, professional, and people-oriented institution.
In a statement signed by the Director General/CEO of CELCE-AFRICA, Amb. Kingsley Enwelim Nwanze, the organization praised the Inspector-General for introducing innovative reforms aimed at strengthening national security, improving police effectiveness, and rebuilding public trust in law enforcement across the country.
According to the statement, one of the most impactful reforms under IGP Disu’s administration is the strategic deployment of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police to the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria. CELCE-AFRICA noted that the initiative has enhanced intelligence gathering, improved operational coordination, accelerated response times, and brought security leadership closer to the people.
The organization further applauded the Inspector-General’s commitment to personnel welfare and career advancement through the promotion of thousands of deserving officers and men of the Force. CELCE-AFRICA observed that the initiative has boosted morale, inspired greater professionalism, and strengthened dedication to duty among police personnel nationwide.
Highlighting recent operational achievements of the Nigeria Police Force, CELCE-AFRICA pointed to the successful rescue of kidnapped victims, the dismantling of criminal networks, the recovery of illegal firearms, and the arrest of several notorious criminal elements. These successes, the organization stated, demonstrate the effectiveness of the intelligence-driven policing strategy currently being implemented by the police leadership.
The statement also acknowledged the redeployment of police personnel to frontline duties, which has strengthened visibility policing, enhanced community engagement, and improved public safety in several communities across the country. It further commended the Force’s growing collaboration with traditional institutions, civil society organizations, youth groups, and other critical stakeholders as a progressive approach to modern security governance.
Speaking on the relationship between security and development, CELCE-AFRICA emphasized that sustainable economic growth, entrepreneurship, investment, and social progress can only flourish in an atmosphere of peace, security, and justice.
