City Boy Pool Challenge Launched in Honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to Drive Youth Engagement and Community Development
A youth-driven sports and entertainment firm, Capital Y Entertainment Limited, has unveiled plans for a major grassroots sporting spectacle titled the City Boy Pool Challenge, an initiative aimed at promoting youth engagement, community development, and local economic stimulation.
According to a statement released by the company, the championship is being spearheaded by its Chief Executive Officer, Yusuf Amao, as part of ongoing efforts to create structured recreational platforms that empower young people while fostering unity across communities.

The event, scheduled to be hosted in collaboration with Amuwo Odofin, is also positioned as a commemorative civic activity aligned with the anticipated 2027 re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Organisers say the initiative reflects a strategic blend of sports, entertainment, and civic participation designed to promote positive social values and encourage responsible youth involvement in nation-building.
Planned as a high-profile recreational tournament, the City Boy Pool Challenge will feature open competitions, celebrity exhibition matches, youth showcases, live performances, brand activations, and commercial vendor participation. Attendance projections will be huge, made up of participants and spectators, a turnout expected to stimulate commercial activity and highlight the host community as a hub for youth-centered innovation.

Beyond the competition itself, organisers emphasised that the championship is structured to discourage youth involvement in social vices by providing constructive engagement opportunities, while also identifying emerging billiards talents and strengthening collaboration between private organisations and public institutions.
The proposed venue for the event is within the Festac Town axis, pending final approvals and logistical arrangements. The organisers expressed confidence that with official endorsement, the championship will serve as a replicable model for grassroots transformation through sports, recreation, and creative enterprise.
Management of Capital Y Entertainment Limited reaffirmed its commitment to professional standards, safety, and measurable community impact, noting that the event represents a strategic investment in youth potential and community cohesion.
